What is Vaastu?

Is vaastu only the fancy of few people?

or

Is it a science?


Is Indian Vaastu right? Perhaps chinese is better? So on and So on......
We have to look at it from various angles and usually the results or conclusions drawn are not precise like mathematical solutions. There is not one correct answer but several correct answers from different points of view. Results are always dependent on very subtle and many times innocent assumptions.And most complicatins arise due tothese subjective assupmtions.
We wont tell you what is right or wrong. Some of the vaastu principles are given and you are advised to take into consideration only what suits you. But looking at it from a positive viewpoint,we feel that Vaastu will support you in life but it is not meant to harm you.
Vaastu Purusha is none other then the God.And god means all copmassion, all love and all light. So, be assured it cannot harm you.But some building principles are quite innocently good practices.Facing east is an aspect like that.
So, study Vaastu and adopt what you feel is good and what is practicable.
But if you want to be a fierce follower of Vaastu - it is your choice.
Let us list some basic aspects
  • SHAPE
    A house should be preferably square or rectangular in shape- simply this means space saving since round corners will need additional space which we cannot use.When you are buying in Square Yards you cannot waste space.Space is money! Now when water falls it must flow or you are drowned.And if you let flow towards north and your northern neighbor drains towards you- both of you will be drowned.And fisticuffs will follow.

  • SLOPE - Highest and Lowest Points
    Water should flow towards Nort east.Why?
    There can be many answers.Sun rays always fall here. Waste water can easily evaporate.(Sun will be either in Uttarayan or Dakshinayana but he sure always rises from East. Another pointer is the house should be closer to southern boundary wall and hence even in afternoon this north east space will be receiving sunshine- almost continuously. it sounds a little more convincing?
    And The house should be more nearer to western boundary and southern boundary. This also means more space on Northern and eastern side of House.
    All the rooms inside the house should be sloping towards ???? North east- Correct?
    Now which side should be High?Instinctively it is the diagnally opposite corner. It is SOUTH-WEST corner
    And South east? It should be lower then South West but higher then North East corner.
    And North west corner? It should be higher then North East corner but Lower then South West corner
  • Facing East Or west?
    Here there are different view points. East seems fine since morning Sunlight can fall in the house.
    But there are people who prefer West since for them it is lucky. When you bring the word Luck into picture, No rules are applicable. You simply choose what you want to.
    In any city for every single East facing house, there will be be one West facing house just on opposite side.
    So! facing east or North just choose as you like. But construct your house after taking into consideration all other aspects.
  • Avoid all the negative and threatening advise.If some modification is very convincing(again be careful to avoid psuedologic ) and you feel is right, go ahead and do it. Remember to honour your gut feeling and always suspect the egoistic and very high sounding advices-Particularly if he says he is best.
